What is a Brazilian Beat? Brazil is vast. With an estimated national population now over 200m people. With 14 metropolitan cities with over 1m inhabitants, 25m Italian Brazilians, 12m German Brazilian, and 1.6m Japanese Brazilians, Brazil is both a vital part of the world and a world in itself. Yet when talking about 'Brazilian' music, for many outsiders a notion of music pre-dating this time of national growth remains (in 1900 the population was 15m) focused on Portuguese, African, and native musical forms that now constitute only part of the roots of contemporary Brazilian Music. Brazil has become an important part of world culture and over the last 50 years has provided a vital contribution to the development of worldwide practised genres of music including Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop, House, as well as contributing its own original genres to the world music scene such as Samba and Bossa Nova. The purpose of Brazilian Beats is to showcase Brazilian artists playing international forms of music and international artists playing Brazilian forms of music. To gather together all these various forms of music (made both inside and outside Brazil) into a single definitive collection that proudly displays Brazil's presence in World dance music. Brazilian Beats Boxset 8CD is the first ever collection to attempt to cover this unique and progressive approach to Brazilian music (nothing less would be adequate). So, find a stereo, push the furniture to the edges of the room, and take a long, long time to enjoy Brazilian Beats Boxset. The rhythm of Brazilian Beats is.... Worldwide (Advertorial)
